Evenings at Scuttlebutt
One of our very first customers, now good friends - Ethan De Aguair, made this special video of one of our evening services in the summer of 2022. Another OG customer, now friend, Ian Legge (aka The Punk Cellist) performed live music on our patio while we served smoked burgers, cocktails, and snacky apps all evening long! Making it one of our favorite Scuttlebutt memories ever!

Bringing artisan coffee to this area was our original focus.
Casey and Mike moved back to Dartmouth in 2018 after living in London for four years, and got started with their own catering company. Then mutual friends introduced them to Jake, and the wheels started turning for a coffee business the three had always dreamed of opening in the area. Scuttlebutt began in 2019 when they hauled their “coffee shop outside” stand to the local farmers markets. With their “small” La Marzocco GS3 espresso machine, and freshly made scones baked in the early hours at our community kitchen, Scuttlebutt grew its following and built a community.
After several semi-permanent “pop-up” locations and some interesting turns in the business during the pandemic, Scuttlebutt finally landed a permanent location in Padanaram Village in Dartmouth, MA.
Now, Scuttlebutt also offers breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Sunday, and dinner service some Friday evenings, complete with a full cocktail menu, and beer and wine list.
The food menu changes regularly, incorporating fresh products and new ideas. The breakfast menu always includes a few staples like meat and vegetarian breakfast sandwiches, scones, sourdough toast. Lunch tends to incorporate meat and seasonal vegetables - sandwiches and salads using fresh vegetables from local farms whenever possible. The evening menu changes most weeks, usually featuring one or two mains (meat and vegetarian options) and seasonal starters and sides!
Community and good vibes are the most important thing to us.
We constantly remind our staff that the only reason we got into this gig is to have fun. When you enter Scuttlebutt, you are essentially entering our living room where our own kids are running around and our neighbors and their dogs are hangin’ on the patio. We love to chat about all things coffee, food, cocktails, and this amazing area that we get to call home. We ask that when you enter Scuttlebutt, you bring only good vibes in with you.
