“Scuttlebutt”

1) Cask on shipboard to contain fresh water for a day's use; (2) Rumor, gossip.

Bringing artisan coffee to this area was our original focus.

We (Casey, Mike, and Jake) got our start in 2019 by hauling our “coffee shop outside” stand to the local farmers markets. With our trusty La Marzocco GS3 espresso machine, and freshly made scones we baked in the early hours at our community kitchen, we grew our following and built a community.

After several semi-permanent “pop-up” locations and some interesting turns in the business during the pandemic, we finally landed our own permanent location in Padanaram Village in Dartmouth, MA.

Now, we also offer breakfast and lunch every day we are open, and dinner service Thursday through Saturday evenings, complete with a full cocktail menu, and beer and wine list.

Our food menu changes regularly, incorporating fresh products and new ideas. Our breakfast menu always includes a few staples like meat and vegetarian breakfast sandwiches, scones, and additional fresh pastries. Lunch tends to incorporate meat and seasonal vegetables - smoked chicken sandwiches, house made black bean burgers, and salads using fresh vegetables from some of our favorite local farms - to name a few. Our evening menu includes fun “snacks” and shareable appetizers, and always has some anchor mains including a rotation of smoked chicken, smoked burgers, and brisket.

Come be a part of our community!

Our vision for this breakfast through dinner offering is to carry our community feeling from the morning through the evening, so you can pop-in for an easy drink and bite with a friend, neighbor, partner, or yourself!

Evenings at Scuttlebutt

One of our very first customers, now good friends - Ethan De Aguair, made this special video of one of our evening services this summer (2022). Another OG customer, now friend, Ian Legge (aka The Punk Cellist) performed live music on our patio while we served smoked burgers, cocktails, and snacky apps all evening long! Making it one of our favorite Scuttlebutt memories to-date.

Community and good vibes are the most important thing to us.

We constantly remind our staff that the only reason we got into this gig is to have fun. When you enter Scuttlebutt, you are essentially entering our living room where our own toddlers are running around and our neighbors and their dogs are hangin’ on the patio. We love to chat about all things coffee, food, cocktails, and this amazing area that we get to call home. We ask that when you enter Scuttlebutt, you bring only good vibes in with you.
